About us

Our story

We began in Dalkey, County Dublin, Ireland, and we continue today with the same interest in books, paper memorabilia and original historical photography.

Our Dalkey shop

We were formerly based at The Tramyard, Castle Street, Dalkey, County Dublin, Ireland. Our shop combined antique and rare books with historical photography, paper memorabilia, ephemera and unusual collectible material.

Our surviving advertising shows the breadth of what we handled: first editions and rare books, Victorian memorabilia, early twentieth-century collectables, photography, medical antiques and other historical material.

Our books background

Books were always central to our identity. Our historical advertising described specialist Victorian and early twentieth-century book stock across literature, children’s books, poetry, fiction, medical, gothic, art, architecture, science, sport and philosophy.

What we do now

Today we concentrate more tightly on antique books, paper memorabilia and ephemera, and antique & vintage photography. We particularly value Irish material, named studio photography, unusual paper survivals and intact groups with research potential.

Our public trading record

Our current public selling presence is our eBay profile, tenbellshouse, where our listings include Irish books, Victorian and Edwardian photographs, Dublin studio photography and historical paper.
