Privacy & Data Protection
Privacy Notice
This notice describes how The Ten Bells House handles information received through its temporary website and Collector Register.
About this notice
The Ten Bells House is an independent antiquarian project operated from Gothenburg, Sweden. It is not currently incorporated or registered as a company. This notice describes the current website and enquiry practices and will be updated if the legal form or services change.
Data controller & contact
For the purposes of enquiries made through this website, The Ten Bells House is the point of contact for data-protection matters. Privacy and data-protection enquiries can be sent to enquire@thetenbellshouse.com.
Information we may receive
When you contact us, offer material, request research information or discuss a purchase, we may receive information including your name, email address, telephone number, country, postal or delivery details, correspondence, enquiry history and any photographs, scans or documents you choose to provide.
Why information is used
Information is used where reasonably necessary to answer enquiries, assess material offered for sale, research or discuss objects, manage purchase and shipping requests, prevent fraud, maintain appropriate transaction or provenance records and meet legal, tax or accounting obligations. Depending on the circumstances, processing may be based on steps requested before a transaction, performance of a transaction, legitimate interests, legal obligations or consent where consent is specifically requested.
Contact, sell forms & uploaded files
The website is hosted on Netlify. Information submitted through website forms, including images or files supplied with an enquiry, may be transmitted to and processed through Netlify infrastructure. Please send only information that is relevant to the enquiry and avoid highly sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary.
Hosting, technical logs & fonts
Like most websites, hosting infrastructure may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps and security logs as part of delivering and protecting the site. The temporary holding page uses standard browser fonts and does not request Google Fonts.
Retention
Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose. Enquiry material that does not lead to a transaction is not intended to be kept indefinitely. Transaction, accounting, fraud-prevention and provenance records may be retained for longer where required by law or where there is a legitimate historical or evidential reason to preserve the record.
Your data-protection rights
Where the GDPR applies, you may have rights including access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, depending on the circumstances and legal basis. You may also have the right to complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY). Requests can be sent to enquire@thetenbellshouse.com.
Collector Register & acquisition alerts
If you join The Collector Register or request notice of similar material, we collect the name, email address and interest information you submit, together with the relevant catalogue item or category where applicable. We use this information to send relevant notices from The Ten Bells House and to respond to related enquiries.
Joining is voluntary and requires an affirmative opt-in. You can unsubscribe from marketing notices at any time by using the unsubscribe option in an email or by contacting The Ten Bells House.
Marketing
Submitting an ordinary enquiry, purchase request or offer of material does not subscribe you to marketing. Marketing notices are sent only where you have actively joined The Collector Register or requested related acquisition alerts. Personal information is not sold to advertisers.
Further information
For independent information about data-protection rights, see the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY). IMY also provides a procedure for making a complaint if you believe personal data has been processed incorrectly.
