Our strongest photographic interest is portraiture from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
Context & identification
We are particularly interested in photographs that retain the name of the sitter, studio marks, inscriptions, dates, locations or related family papers.
Where portraits survive together with letters, documents or negatives, the value of the group lies not only in individual images but in the historical relationships between them.
Irish focus
We have a particular interest in Irish studio photography, especially portraits from Dublin and elsewhere in Ireland, named photographers, identified sitters, family groups, CDVs, cabinet cards and photographic material retaining local provenance.
Victorian focus
Victorian portraiture is a principal photographic field for us: cartes de visite, cabinet cards, studio portraits, family groups and albums from the nineteenth century, particularly examples with inscriptions, studio marks or related family papers.
Acquisitions
We welcome private collections of antique photographs, especially family portrait groups, Victorian and Edwardian studio photography, named sitters, albums, negatives and complete photographic archives.
We are physically based in Gothenburg, Sweden and work with material located throughout Europe and internationally.
